ESG FACTORS

The “E” stands for environmental and encompasses the direct and indirect effects of a company’s activities on the environment.

The “S” represents social and includes the impact that a company has on its social environment within the community.

The “G” symbolizes governance, referring to the company’s corporate governance practices. This includes aspects such as the composition and diversity of its Board of Directors, transparency policies regarding public information, and adherence to codes of conduct.

Environment

CFE Finance Group has consistently demonstrated a responsible approach, placing a strong emphasis on environmental well-being through strategic investments and partnerships.

As a supporter of eco-friendly sports, CFE Finance Group has been sponsoring the international rowing competition, Silver Skiff, since 2012. In the same year, the Group invested in a sustainability project with Recy Technologies Srl, a specialized company focused on plastic collection and recycling systems.

CFE Finance Group firmly believes that harnessing new technologies to achieve sustainability goals presents numerous opportunities for improving social and environmental impacts. In 2021, CFE made a strategic investment in NewCleo, a startup founded by Pr. Stefano Buono. NewCleo aims to revolutionize energy extraction from nuclei, with the goal of achieving zero emissions and enabling a sustainable future for the planet.

In 2024, we completed the acquisition of TechStar Srl, achieving 100% ownership, after initially investing in 2021 by acquiring 49%. TechStar Srl is an Italian startup founded by Dr. Marco Zanuttini, specializing in artificial intelligence and augmented reality. It is internationally recognized for the development of the Meta Presence® platform.

Thanks to Meta Presence®, at CFE, we now have a virtual office where managers and collaborators can organize meetings and training sessions, with the goal of reducing the environmental impact caused by travel between the various offices of the group.

CFE’s commitment to responsible partnerships led to its collaboration with RiverRock European Capital Partner in 2023, acquiring a 60% share capital. RiverRock, a signatory of the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment, received an A rating for Strategy & Governance in 2020.

In 2023, CFE Finance Group committed to Objective No. 6 of the UN Agenda 2030, which focuses on sustainable water management. As part of this commitment, CFE supports Satya Obelette, accompanied by the UNEP, on her fifteen-month global tour. Satya’s objective is to raise awareness, promote critical thinking, and discover innovative solutions to preserve this precious natural resource.

Recognizing its role, CFE Finance Group has made sustainability a priority in its future decision-making processes, aiming to foster awareness and reflection among its managers, collaborators, and external partners.

CFE Finance Group has been acting responsibly for years, taking care of the environment through investments and partnerships.

As supporter of “ecologically clean” sports, CFE Finance Group has been promoting the international rowing competition Silver Skiff since 2012. In line with this commitment, CFE Finance Group has actively supported and continues to support various organizations and associations dedicated to assisting those in need. We place particular attention on charitable and non-profit organizations, such as Time2 for fostering inclusion, Bazar Sans Frontières de Luxembourg for combating poverty, The House of the Sun in Benin for promoting girls’ education, the London FPA for responsible journalism, and The Turin Philharmonic Orchestra, which offers cultural enrichment through chamber concerts featuring Italy’s most talented young musicians.

We are committed to contributing to these goals and will continue to prioritize them in our actions and initiatives.
